VOLUNTEER SUPPORT DOG TEAM

The Volunteer Support Dog Team provides comfort and support to individuals and families in crisis.
The Volunteer Support Dog Team consists of handlers and dogs registered with Delta Society, screened, and highly trained
to respond to appropriate emergency scenes to provide support to our TIP clients. The Team is used in hospitals, homes,
police stations, and on emergency scenes. They have proven to be an effective means of comfort to both young and old who
are facing a tragedy. Trained therapy dogs sense when an individual needs comfort. “Dogs will never say the wrong thing,
they won’t ask questions, they are nonjudgmental, and most of all, they offer unconditional love” from HOPE Animal
Assisted Crisis Response.
TIP is proud to be able to offer this service to the community due to a generous grant from the Jewish Community
Foundation of Greater Prescott.

Therapy dogs to join volunteers in Trauma Intervention Program
By Heidi Dahms-Foster, Editorial Manager (Prescott Valley Tribune)

TIP volunteers respond throughout the county to fires, car accidents and other traumatic events...
Therapy dogs are uniquely suited to such events. They provide comfort to victims, especially children, who may not
talk to adults. They inject normalcy and warmth into abnormal environments.
